Day 26: "Death Warrant" (1990)

The 26th Damme Day:

"Death Warrant" (1990)

In this film, JCVD is a Canadian cop on loan to a police department in the US to go undercover inside a maximum-security prison to investigate why so many inmates are ending up dead.
The US use a Canadian because they feel nobody in the US prison would recognize him as a cop.

He goes into the prison as someone busted for armed robbery. While on the inside he uncovers a murder conspiracy ran by the guards, some key inmates, and the prison doctor.  The movie features lots of hard-core prison fights and at one point, all the inmates are after Van Damme.
It shows the harsh reality of maximum-security prison life.

JCVD shows off his flashy martial arts moves with lots of flying and spinning kicks.
It was good, but not one of my favorite JCVD films. I feel the prison movie he did much later in his career was better.

Give it a look and let me know what you think.  I give it a 5 out of 10.
I'll catch you on my next Damme review!
