The 10th Damme Day:
"Swelter" (2014)
Right off the bat I want to say that this is not a movie that is carried by JCVD. It's an ensemble film and JCVD plays one of the characters of 5 that robbed a casino and now over 10 years later are trying to recover the $10 million dollars that they stole.
The poster shows JCVD up front and center, but it's a marketing trick to get you to watch, rent, or buy the film. He's not in it much at all, and when he is, he's just a mostly silent type guy with not much to do. I was certainly disappointed in this one as far as going into it thinking it was going to be a JCVD action flick.
I feel cheated. It has some good star power in it, like Lennie James and Alfred Molina. But once again, JCVD played second fiddle to them in this film. I'm going to stop discussing it right away and say that I rate it a 1 out of 10 as far as a JCVD movie. But as just a normal low budget indie film I give it about a 4. I am glad I watched it once though because I'm on this quest to watch everything he has done, big or small.
