The 11th Damme Day:
"Nowhere to Run" (1993)
This film came out when JCVD was in his prime. I remember seeing it in a theater back in '93 in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
This was a treat to watch this Saturday morning and revisit it all these years later. It co-starred the beautiful Rosanna Arquette when she too was in her prime.
The two of them ignited on screen together in this action love story about an escaped prisoner (JCVD) who happens upon the farm of a widow (Arquette) and her two young kids (one played by Kieran Culkin, brother of Macaulay Culkin, who also co-starred with JCVD in Cyborg).
The woman allows the drifter to stay on her farm and he ends up coming to her aid when land developers use mercenaries and crooked cops to try to run her off and sell her property.
The film is loaded with awesome JCVD action that you would expect and a really cool motorcycle chase through the mountains as JCVD is pursued by police on horseback, vehicles, and other motorcycles. JCVD does a pretty good job at acting in this one too, the heartwarming story had me tearing up at the end.
