The 12th Damme Day:
"JCVD" (2008)
This is the most fun I've had watching a JCVD movie! He shines in this one and gains new respect from me as an actor. He did an amazing job with this and puts himself out there in a vulnerable way, playing himself in a dramedy. The film has JCVD down on his luck, completely broke, and in custody battle for his daughter. While going to a bank in Belgum to get a wire transfer so that he can pay his lawyer before his lawyer drops the case, JCVD is in the wrong place at the wrong time and walks into the middle of a bank robbery in progress. Citizens and police see him through the window and assume that he is the one robbing the bank.
The real robbers realize the case of mistaken identity and use it to their advantage. What follows is hilarious with the police, the media, and the public all believing that JCVD is holding hostages and robbing a bank.

This is well acted by JCVD and you see a new side of him completely. One of his top performances ever. He probably has more dialogue in this one film than he has had in all of his films put together. If you've never seen it I highly recommend watching it.
On a scale of 1-10, I give it an 8. It's not a martial arts action film, just a good dramedy starring the legend as himself.
I'll be back soon with my next Damme review!
